Montreal based singer/flautist/saxophonist Trisha Pope is one of the
few recording artists to make a successful shift from being an
instrumentalist to a vocalist. Her JAZZ INSPIRATION recording
debut offers an acoustic cross section from standards to original
material. The title of the album comes from a picture of a female
baboon, which Trisha picked out of the National Geographic. The
"monkey" became the mascot of the high-spirited recording session,
which led to this record. For awhile, Trisha was living in Japan
playing show tunes at a Tokyo nightclub. With a diverse musical
background in bluegrass, classical, rock and jazz, Trisha’s "Monkey"
turns a jazz track into something truly unique.
